Did You Know…

1) that obesity id the #1 cause of preventable death in the US today?
2) that 61 percent of Americans are overweight or obese; and
3) that the economic cost of obesity is $117 billion a year.

The goal of the D-TEAM ministry is to encourage healthy living while raising monetary and food donations to benefit the church. The program, which is open to everyone who wants to participate, encourages healthy living through education, weekly weigh-ins, and peer support. The weekly sessions include time for weigh-in and leader facilitated instruction. Participants will measure and track their progress using a weekly food and/or exercise diary and self evaluation. Points will be given and prizes awarded.

This coordinated fitness program is more than just about exercising. Besides fundraising for the church, the mission for our D-TEAM fitness ministry is three-fold:

1. To provide participants an opportunity to enhance physical stewardship of their bodies in order to improve their health through exercise.

2. To heighten Christian fellowship and build relationships through contact in an informal setting.

3. To provide an opportunity through which the unchurched members of the community can experience Christian faith in a real and personal way
